Q. Why the name "dallisgrassweeder a weed surgeon" TM
A. The dallisgrassweeder will surgically remove ANY weed including the dallisgrass from the ground, the dallis grass just happens to be the most hideous and imported weed, considered an invaisive species weed by Presidential Executive order in 1999, that can grow near six feet tall and has rhizome(s) in it's root system that makes the weed perinneal, thus the name "dallisgrassweeder a weed surgeon"!
Q. Why do you turn the dallisgrassweeder only clockwise?
A. Roots are being rolled up on the dallisgrassweeder "retaining device" underground where one can not see that weed roots are being spooled and / or rolled up laterally around the retaing device. Reversing to counter_clockwise and / or back and forth would break the roots underground and defeat the purpose. Also the dallisgrassweeeder is all threaded and clockwise rotation continues keeping the threads tight.
Q. Why does the "dallisgrassweeder a weed surgeon" NOT have sharp points to go into the ground easier?
A. The dallisgrassweeder has no sharp points because sharp points will not slide off the stems with a jiggle or wiggle, the blunt or otherwise flat ends of the bolts do slide off the stems to reach the ground without penetrating any stem(s). We must remove the weed intact without leaving any rhizome(s) or dropping any seeds on the ground, thus the blunt ends and no sharp cutting edges
Q. Why does this tool use bolts to pierce the ground?
A. The bolts attached to and are an integral part of the "retaining device" have the correct amount of grip with it's spiraled all threads to hold the weed debris to the "retaining device' until the ejector device is used to force the weed debris into a trash receptical. Removing the weed intact so the rhizome(s) cannot bring the weed back to life perinnially and there shall be no seed to re-germinate.
Q. How can one tell where to insert the "tool".
A. The center of the tool must match closely to the center of the weed. Even when the weed is part of a cluster of weeds simply go to center of each weed within the cluster, jiggle or wiggle the handle to pass by the stems, then push it into the ground, then roll up the roots until the tool feels free, then lift it out of the ground and eject it into a trash recepticle.
Q. Is there any maintenance required?
A. The"dallisgrassweeder a weed surgeon" has non metalic self lubricating bearings for the Ejector Device. If one should force and bend a bolt, simply unscrew a handle and use the handle over the bent bolt and bend it back enough to allow the Ejector Disk to clear the bolt and proceed with weeding. One should replace the bolt in question as soon as convenient to do so. Take the tool with you to a hardware store and get a bolt to match or you may order a set from this website.
